Welcome to the Small Business Victory blog! If you're reading this, you probably just successfully signed up for the notification list.

Small Business Victory was created in 2008 to help entrepreneurs navigate the maze of starting and building a small business.

This blog was founded with 3 truths in mind:

  • Starting a new business is not difficult
  • With the right knowledge, running a profitable business is within reach of anyone
  • You can enjoy your business and your life

Don't Overcomplicate Things...

Way too many potential entrepreneurs are confused about the process of starting and running their business. The traditional media and resources make everything so complicated. But it doesn't have to be that way!

When you really drill down on anything in business, there is a simple concept behind it. For example, you don't need to hire an attorney to form your corporate entity, you can do it yourself or with a cost-effective service. You don't need a lot of cashflow to hire proficient help - with tight systems you can hire cheap offshore personal assistants. You don't need to be a programmer to build your company website. There are simple and cost-effective services that automate it for you.

I am a failure!

I have been an entrepreneur since 1996.

My first business was an Internet service called Carryout.com. It failed. My second business was consulting for web development. It was a success - but consulting proved to be bittersweet. You can only make as much money as the time you have to invest... My next 5 businesses failed. They were businesses all across the board, in diverse categories like call center reporting, online taxi and limo booking, stock market tracking software, etc...

I wear my past failures as a badge of honor. It means I've learned. Every time I failed, I learned something valuable. I got more value out of failures, in fact, than I did out of success.

Since that time I have been a success and a failure in business many times over. But I'm still learning...

And I don't think I'll ever quit learning... I enjoy it... which is why I started this web site. In my quest for business knowledge, I seek out and interview the foremost experts in fields such as financing, marketing, Internet, productivity, etc... As I pick the brains of these experts, knowledge is transferred to both you and I. This knowledge can only help us become better entrepreneurs.

Enjoy Your Business - and Your Life

My philosophy in business is that it should be enjoyed in combination with your life. What is the point of working ALL THE TIME, when there is nobody to enjoy it with? Why slave all day long and never leave time for yourself or your family?

To this end, I have a high interest in extreme productivity. This means time management, outsourcing, working remote, and installing systems driven processes in your business.

Not Just a Web Site

I get most of my ideas for content, videos, and interviews from you.
